    Desert Dog Bowl Bash
    11/21/2006

This was easily the most fun a contest in Arizona has been in 20 years. The best time Ive had at a contest since the epic N.S.A. contests of Duel at Diablo (Stadium) in 1986 and Duel In The Desert at Big Surf in 1987. This contest brought all the energy and excitement of the legendary contests of yore, but with a notable difference. Unlike a lot of the famous contests of the past you didn't have to be a top pro to actually be involved and actually skate in the event. This may not seem like a big deal but really it's one of those things that makes all the difference. It's the same difference between arena rock and a $5 punk show. It's the tearing down of the barrier between the professional performers and the fans which results in the type raw energy that can make 8 hours in the sun feel like 30 minutes. Read more...

    Desert Dog Death Race
    11/10/2006

In October, Kronik Energy sponsored the Desert Dog Bowl Bash which also included a Pro/Am Death Race (Park Slalom). The course was set by Dave Hackett and the race was run by Steve Olson and Dave Duncan. It was a lot of fun for everyone. In the video you can see both pros, such as Hackett, Hosoi, and Mountain, as well as locals Chris Kelly, Tom Conely, Shane and many others.

SkateRock is Music For Skaters by Skaters
Skate Rock wasn't born, created or invented. Skate Rock was inevitable. Skaters are skaters first and foremost and whatever other labels society tries to lay on us are shunned. We define ourselves. A big part of that is making our own music. Musical influences from outside skate culture were filtered, twisted and adapted. Skaters took the loud fast and angry parts of punk, stripped away the fashion pose, and injected new ideas and humor to create Skate Rock. For skaters by skaters.

Believe in the Skate Culture Revolution! Long live Skate Rock!
