    Keep Skating Free at Etnies
    8/17/2005

While some California skateparks are switching to a pay-to-play format, and others have been charging since day one, the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forestis doing what it can to keep skating free. With a little help from skaterock legends JFA, along with Broken Bottles, Thee Indigents, The Pillz and Rabies, the park is holding a gig on August 20, from 5 to 10 p.m. Look for giveaways from The Firm Skateboards to keep things interesting. Cost is only$5 and couldn't go to a better cause. For more information, call the skatepark at (949) 916-5870. Useful links:

SkateRock is Music For Skaters by Skaters
Skate Rock wasn't born, created or invented. Skate Rock was inevitable. Skaters are skaters first and foremost and whatever other labels society tries to lay on us are shunned. We define ourselves. A big part of that is making our own music. Musical influences from outside skate culture were filtered, twisted and adapted. Skaters took the loud fast and angry parts of punk, stripped away the fashion pose, and injected new ideas and humor to create Skate Rock. For skaters by skaters.

Believe in the Skate Culture Revolution! Long live Skate Rock!
