    Arizona Skate Park Coalition
    2/13/2005

We are proud to announce the formation of the ARIZONA SKATE PARK COALITION (A.S.P.C). We are the first organization in Arizona to focus on the development of skate parks throughout our state. While maintaining our grass roots connection to the skate community in Arizona , our goal is to bring together the best skateboarders, builders and other important individuals in the valley to work with municipalities and private entities to insure that we provide the best possible network of skate parks in our state. Currently we are working with the City of Portland Oregon on the development of a tiered park system which includes world class facilities, regional facilities and neighborhood parks or skate spots so all the parks are different but as a whole have all the terrain necessary to accommodate every type of skateboarder. Portland has shown that they understand and appreciate the growth of our sport and that there is need for a well planned system of skate parks in every state. With all the restrictions and budget constraints cities have it is a constant challenge to create skate parks that accommodate everyone and most of the time one type of skater or another isn't satisfied. As a professional skateboarder and the designer of over 60 public and private skate parks, I understand all the issues we face and have solutions for every situation but I need help educating and promoting the truth. We are especially interested in the scene in Arizona because this is where we live and there is a huge need for more skate parks in our state. I will be working hard over the next couple months to create this coalition and will be interested in organizing a meeting with all the cities in the valley to present the current status of skate parks in Arizona and the rest of the country. I will select all the coalition members and contact them this as soon as possible to see if they are interested in being a part of the organization. I will be setting up a website in conjunction with AZPX.com so we can communicate. I am hoping to meet once a month to update everyone and discuss our agenda. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for your support.

SkateRock is Music For Skaters by Skaters
Skate Rock wasn't born, created or invented. Skate Rock was inevitable. Skaters are skaters first and foremost and whatever other labels society tries to lay on us are shunned. We define ourselves. A big part of that is making our own music. Musical influences from outside skate culture were filtered, twisted and adapted. Skaters took the loud fast and angry parts of punk, stripped away the fashion pose, and injected new ideas and humor to create Skate Rock. For skaters by skaters.

Believe in the Skate Culture Revolution! Long live Skate Rock!
